Founded in 1906 when William Woodcock ( a sugar boiler), Robert Robertson ( a grocer), Sydney Marks and Thomas King each put £100 into a partnership, the Trebor Confectionery Company became a giant of the British confectionery industry. Initially known as Robertson & Woodcock the company's name was changed when the business acquired premises called Trebor House in Upton Park, London. The name Trebor appealed to Robertson as it was the letters of his name reversed. Trebor Mints and Refreshers were launched in 1935.
